Standard Plaster

Traditional pool plaster — the finish that's been used for decades. Smooth, affordable, and available in a range of pigmented colors. Note: We don't typically do plain white plaster. If budget is the primary concern, we'll work with you — but we usually recommend upgrading to our Phenomenal Hybrid blend for significantly better long-term durability at a modest price difference.

Available upon request. Most customers find our Phenomenal Hybrid is the smarter long-term value.

Full Quartz Plaster

Quartz aggregate is blended throughout the plaster matrix, adding sparkle, structural hardness, and significantly longer life. The quartz crystals catch and refract light beautifully, giving your pool a subtle shimmer that smooth plaster simply can't replicate. We carry three QuartzScapes series — Regular (clean neutrals), Caribbean (vibrant tropical hues), and Reflections (iridescent, light-catching finishes) — so you can dial in exactly the look you want.

  • Quartz aggregate blended throughout for strength
  • Natural sparkle and light refraction
  • Harder and more durable than standard plaster
  • Three series: Regular, Caribbean, Reflections
  • Wide color palette within each series

Mini Pebble Plaster

Small river pebbles exposed through the plaster surface create a naturally textured, organic aesthetic that evokes a resort or natural swimming hole. The pebble aggregate adds depth, visual dimension, and exceptional surface hardness — making mini pebble one of the most durable options available. StoneScapes offers two series: Mini Pebbles (natural earth tones) and Glass Series (pebble blended with glass beads for added sparkle).

  • Natural river pebble aggregate finish
  • Organic, resort-style aesthetic
  • Textured surface that conceals minor imperfections
  • Two series: Mini Pebbles and Glass Series

If you love the look of pebble but want more barefoot comfort, micro pebble hits the sweet spot — it's the choice for pools that need to be as pleasant to swim in as they are beautiful to look at.

  • Finer pebble aggregate than mini pebble
  • Noticeably smoother underfoot
  • Rich, dimensional color depth
  • Broad palette of vibrant color options

Tiny, precisely-formed glass beads are embedded throughout the plaster matrix, catching sunlight and pool lighting to create a jewel-like shimmer that is unlike anything else. During the day, the surface glitters in sunlight. At night with underwater lighting, it's breathtaking. Glass bead plaster is also non-porous and highly resistant to algae and staining — making it as practical as it is spectacular. What is Mottling?

Mottling is a natural variation in color and tone that can appear in pool plaster — most visibly as light and dark patches, marbling, or an uneven appearance across the surface. It's one of the most common questions we get, and one we want to answer clearly:

Mottling is completely normal. It is not a defect, a mistake, or a sign of poor workmanship. It's an inherent characteristic of cementitious plaster and occurs in virtually every plastered pool to some degree.

Darker plaster colors — deep blues, charcoals, and blacks — are more likely to show visible mottling than lighter shades. This is worth knowing when choosing your color. Mottling does not affect the durability, structural integrity, or longevity of the plaster in any way.

Tips to Minimize Mottling

  • Maintain proper water chemistry — balanced pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness are the single biggest factor in plaster appearance and longevity
  • Avoid draining the pool unnecessarily — exposure to air accelerates discoloration and carbonation on the plaster surface
  • Brush the plaster regularly during the first 30 days after application — this helps ensure even curing
  • Keep up with regular pool maintenance and water balancing year-round
